Markovina Estate
Markovina Estate is a family owned and operated wedding venue in Kumeu. A property with 10 acres of gardens and water features. If you’re looking for a relaxed secluded nature filled venue, this is the one for you!
I’ve put together a bunch of photos and info that I’ve gathered as a wedding photographer who has photographed at this venue many times. If there’s anything I didn’t answer for you, feel free to reach out and ask me!
Ceremony Locations
Markovina Estate has great ceremony options for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. There are multiple outdoor options available to you. One of the best spots I’ve seen is a spot called ‘Barrel Waterfall’ - where your guests sit under stunning trees, which is great because it provides shade for your guests in the heat of summer.
Markovina also has a newly built indoor ceremony option which is great as a wet weather backup. Situated in front of a stone fireplace, this indoor ceremony location provides plenty of space for seating of your guests. It also has lots of windows in the space and has great light. This space is connected to the main building via an atrium space.
Reception Space
The reception space at Markovina is magical. Filled with real vines and greenery growing through the space, lined by windows with views out to the surrounding greenery. The space has polished concrete floors and uses wooden support beams. The use of greenery bring the outdoors vibes indoors. It is a large space, with the ability to accomodate a large number of guests comfortably.
The atrium space that connects the reception to the indoor ceremony location can also be used to setup a photobooth.
Food
Markovina offer a variety of different ways to feed your guests, but rest assured they will be satisfied! They can organise grazing boards and canapes for your guests to enjoy post ceremony. In terms of dinner, Markovina offer a buffet option for those who love food, as well as shared platters or plated meal options.
Dancefloor
A dancefloor, complete with a disco ball and a bubble machine, this thing is ready to go. Being in the centre of the room people can join in from the sides or watch from their tables.
This area is kept clear of tables so that nothing needs to be moved or changed when it comes to setup. This might change if you’re having a particularly large wedding (120+) and this area might be needed to put tables.
Photo Locations
There are a bunch of gorgeous onsite locations available to shoot in at Markovina. I love how much variety there is. From tall dry grass, to manicured green lawns, little forest patches to garden groves and water features. You definitely don’t need to head offsite - there’s plenty of great stuff to work with here. Although if you do want to head offsite there’s also plenty of great places to go for photos - Markovina is right in the heart of Kumeu countryside.
