Top 3 North Shore Wedding Venues

As a wedding photographer who grew up on Auckland’s North Shore, I was always surprised that there were very few venues this side of the city. If you want a North Shore wedding, these venues are your picks.

1. The Officers Mess

The Officers Mess, is located at Fort Takapuna and in my opinion, is the best wedding venue on the North Shore. I mean just look at that view of Rangitoto Island! The ceremony spot and its view are iconic. The reception space and building itself is stunning, super minimalist - clean white walls, with hard wood floors and great window light. The space lends itself to being a beautiful canvas to decorate and style to your hearts content. The food is incredible, the team are great, and the location is just perfection. 2. The Wharf

The Wharf is the bougiest venue on the shore, if you want to make a statement, this is it! Located on Northcote Point, the unique circular design of the building sports panoramic views out onto the water of the Waitematā Harbour and the Harbour Bridge, your guests will enjoy a view of the sun setting over the water no matter where they are sitting. They do offer an indoor ceremony space, but if you’re wanting something outdoors you’ll have to organise somewhere else for that. For more information check out their website here.

3. Madam Woo - Takapuna

If you’re looking for something different and are a keen foodie, then this might be the venue for you. Madam Woo Takapuna can seat up to 120 guests and is a modern space filled with character. This is one of my favourite restaurants and if you’ve ever wanted down some magical Pork Hawker rolls on your wedding day then you’ve found the place to do so.
