2020 New Zealand Wedding Photographer of the Year

I am honoured to have been named the 2020 NZ Wedding Open Photographer of the Year, by the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography!

From the day I first started my journey into wedding photographer I have always had my eye on these awards. The IRIS awards are the national New Zealand photography awards, held annually by the NZIPP. They have been running for 37 years and this year they recieved a record of 2740 entries across all the categories.

What a feeling! Needless to say, when I heard the news my office was promptly filled with confetti and celebrations (the awards ceremony was conducted online due to Covid restrictions).

Thank you to all the mentors and friends who have supported me along the way. Jake, James, Tim, I appreciate you immensely. Thank you to my partner Bailey who I couldn’t do it without, your patience and support means the world. To my family and friends, thanks for always for encouraging me in my photography obsession.

And of course, the biggest thank you to all my wonderful couples who I literally couldn’t have done this without. Thank you for trusting me and for always being onboard with my crazy ideas. I’m so grateful and truly feel like I have the best job in the world - creating art for people like you!
